Created by the Gracie University in California, and proudly offered here in Tameside - Gracie Combatives (Watch video ▶︎) is our beginner adults programme designed for men and women with no previous experience with this or any other martial art. You'll learn the 36 most important self-defence techniques of Jiu Jitsu in a very organised, safe and welcoming environment.
In every class you will learn:
How to defend and escape from the worst positions
How to control and submit someone - even if they are larger and stronger than you
How to manage the distance against strikes both standing and on the ground

We understand that getting started with anything new can be nerve wracking, especially something like Jiu Jitsu. We've gone to great lengths to create the perfect beginner learning experience with no egos or judgment, just connecting, learning and growing.
This programme is extremely well organised and structured and you can start at any point without feeling out of place.
Whilst we will motivate you to push yourself, you have complete control of your progression and clarity of where you're heading
Safety is the number one concern in this programme. Far too many people quit Jiu Jitsu in the early stages due to injury.
You will start by learning the techniques in a co-operative manner with a like-minded training partner before any live training.
SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE
We have members that have never exercised and some very active, members who are 25 and some 55. All with no previous experience in Jiu Jitsu.
